In Buena Vista, CO at Mt Princeton RV park July 12-15, 4 nights

Changing RV parks today to Mt Princeton RV park.  Snowy Peak is full. I don't think we will have cable, which means no TV.  Will use hot spot WFi and Roku data streaming.  4 nights $236.00 or $59 per night.  WiFi is very slow.  PBS channel on antenna TV only.  Site C6.

Saturday:

   Trip to St Elmo :

Hancock was at over 11,000 feet.  Harsh winters.

In front of St Elmo store, hummingbirds.

A cold place to camp.  $20 per day with hand water pump and outhouse.

 Alpine tunnel was made for railroad to gunnison to haul ore from Hancock mines
RR shutdown in 1926, which made St Elmo into a ghost town.

Sunday:

Trip to Salida for pancakes:

  Then up to Cottonwood pass summit.  Newly paved road to summit. Road closed at summit.  Construction over to Taylor lake.

Rain started about 1600 for an hour.  We stopped at Jan's and had cherry pie and muffin.  Met the owner (Jan).

In Buena Vista, CO at Snowy Peak RV for 3 nights July 9-11. $160.95 or $53.65 per night.
 Gravel roads and spaces (in #16).. level space, full hookups, shade tree and table.  Two 30 amp and one 50 amp for two sites.  My neighbor is in a small travel
trailer, so he used 30 amp.  I got the 50 amp.

Passenger back jack would not completely retract this morning.  I had to crawl under and shake it.

Wednesday:
    Cable down most of day.  Trip to Salida (Walmart), grocery store.  I cleaned front of coach,  sprayed slide rubber with silicon, lithium grease on driver side slide supports.  Cleaned windows on jeep.


Snowy Peak's cable has been down to 4 channels for two days now. ION channel is only good channel.  We paid extra for 40 cable channels!!

Thusday:  trip to leadville today.
  Cable cameback after 1800 thursday evening. (SPECTRUM)  NO WONDER!!

Lots of snow on mountains for July.

Mt Elbert is highest mountain in Colorado. 14,440 feet

Friday July 12th:
   Parks power went out at 8:00.  No water either.  Power back at 9:00.
Moving this morning to Mt Princeton RVpark, next door.
