In Harlingen, at Home, Aug. 29th for the 2020 winter

 Drove from Medina Lake just NW of San Antonio to Harlingen today(290 miles) after having electrical pole drop L1 down to 110V & 11 amps yesterday afternoon.  Tripped rear A/C breaker.  No problems on the road, other than interior temp reaching 99°.  

Arrived around 4:20 pm.



Thursday, Sept. 3nd:  Replaced Jeep windshield today.  The Cheap Autoglass Co took 45 minutes.  Cost $156.

Martin returned Mobile Home repair quote from July 25th Hurricane Hanna ($1850).

I got on roof and fixed back 16' of flashing that is missing with flex tape and caulk.

Thinking about removing the remaining 50' & caulking the gap, then placing back.

Sept 8th: put $300 deposit on 7 week old party Yorkie, we named Levi.


Sept 14th: we put our $300 deposit on a parti Yorkie, we named Kenzi.  Kenzi is two weeks old and just opened her eyes.

In Medina Lake TT Aug 24-29site F119 near Bandera, TX.

 Drove from Buckhorn Rv resort (Kerrville, TX) 58 miles to Medina Lake TT near Bandera.

Two 50 amp site open when arrived.  We took site 119, which was only full hookup.  Waited for fifthwheel to pull out.  Gravel site, but almost level.  Shade to NE. 4 TV channels, including two shopping, one food, & one boxing. ION is only watchable chnl.

We have reservations until aug. 31st. Leaving Sat, Aug 29.

Friday, Aug 28 @ 1600. Temp outside 105°, two Rv's moved in on our corner.  We started having power issues L1 low volts & amps.  Running one A/C.  Leaving Sat morning for Home.



Lots of Deer...
Cabins for rent.  We stayed in one in 2011 (on Harley Trike).


We had approx 30 show up for supper.  This buck is claiming his territory!

Wed, Aug 26 @ 12:45:

    Just heard our yorkie mother is in labor,  yea puppies on the way!!

Deer like carrots, too.

Thursday, Aug 27th:

   While eating an Apple Pie /Ice Cream at OST (old spanish trail) restaurant in Bandera,




 We received pictures of our new born Yorkie fur babies (litter of seven, 6 girls & 1 boy).  We are going to pick a brown boy & white/brown spots girl.  YEA!!!!  I'M A DAD!!


They will stay with mom for 10-12 weeks, then drive to Montgomery, Tx and pick

Levi & Kenzie up, sometime before Thanksgiving. Counting from top, pups three & four.

In Kerrville, TX at Buckhorn Lake Resort Aug 17-23 one week

 Drove east on I10 45 miles from Junction to Buckhorn Lake Resort (Kerrville). In space 6071.  Nice park, concrete spaces(level), asphalt streets, good Wifi and cable. $260/week + electric. ($37.14/day). Electric charge for the week:  191 kw, $26.26 ($ .1374 per kw)

Cable is poor for last three days.  Bottom half of channels missing signal.  Should get 36 channels,  getting 22 on both TV's. Channel 3 was weather.

Tom & Bev are parked next to us.


Park flag poles have two Trump flags on both sides with US & Texas flags in middle.

Lots of Trump signs thru out park.  We are in Trump country!

Two hurricanes in Gulf at same time.  We have reservation in Medina Lake TT Aug 24-Sept 4th.  We will sit thru next weeks possible heavy rain at Medina Lake.

In Junction, TX at Pecan Valley RV park, one night Sunday Aug 16

 Drove from Amarillo, TX to Junction, TX(400 miles). Left at 8:00-4:00 On our way to Kerrville. (53 miles )  Stopped for the night.

At Pecan Valley RV park on I10 exit 451.  Left over road, right at fork, 2.5 miles on right.

In passthru:  asphalt next to trees.  Perfectly level, full hookups, 50 amp.  Connections 

Look new.  Picnic table,  OK Wifi, No TV (antenna or cable).  $37/night.

In Amarillo, TX at Oasis RV Friday, Aug 14-15, two nights

 Drove from Angel fire to Amarillo (Oasis Rv park). 265 miles.  Left 9:00 tx time, arrived 3:00. In space #48 for two nights. Temp in Angel Fire 46, temp in Amarillo on arrival 106.

Two nights cost $106.20 ($53.10/ night).  

Thunderstorms brought down temp to 90 degrees.

Saturday, Aug 15th:

    Breakfast at Youngbloods this morning with Gary & Amy.


Sunday, Aug 16:

     Leaving Amarillo, driving to Sweetwater (approx 250 miles). On our way to Kerrville.

In Angel Fire, NM at Angel Fire RV for 1 week July 7-13

Left Durango @8:30 am(49 degree low) thru Pagosa Springs, Chama, Taos to Angle Fire. Arrived about 2:00 pm.  No issues.  Newly graveled road out of Chama.  Threw gravel all over Jeep.  Thank God for tow cover.  Nothing said at checkin about quarantine in NM.   In space 505.  Concrete level pad, asphalt roads, great Wifi, 40 channels on good cable. Update on cable- signal gets weak around 6:30 pm first two nights.  CanNOT Watch. Switching to antenna, just a few channels.
 I love this park! 1 week cost $580.82.($82.97/day).
Wow, last years price was $64.97 / day (in June). $18 per day increase in one year(in Aug)
Rates are higher in July & August.

Saturday, Aug 8th:
     Road trip to Red River.  Temps in low 70's.  Nice day.


Masks required!  This is first time I have seen a sign about covering nose.


Rolling dog house.  A little too much for our future dogs.  
Chair was running.

Look closely at the bare spot on top of mountain directly above the light pole. 
 That is a result of the Molycorp mine That I worked at 40 years ago.



We split an order of fries.  Last years waiter(Cecil Dwayne) was still working.
Wash stations scattered thru out downtown.
Monday, Aug. 10th:
      Road trip to Taos:





Monday evening cable started dropping channels "no signal". Just a few remain.
Tuesday, Aug 11: 
      Road trip back to Red River.  Cable went out again just before dark.
Wednesday, Aug 12:
     Road trip back to Taos.  Cable good in morning.
Power brown out (3) for just 20 secs each.  Power looks good at pole.  L1=124V, L2=125V
Suppressor at pole looks good.  No 120 sec delay.  No clicking sound at transfer switch.
Will check out further tomorrow morning.  I did not find anything wrong.  4 brownouts total.
Thursday, Aug 13th:
     No brownouts today.  Worked on pre-travel list.  Polished RV front.  Ordered pizza one more time tonight.  Re-arranged large bay.  Fixed broken strap on PS awning.
Perfect weather: high in mid 70's.  Cable is good , so far.


Plugged engine heater back in after recommendations on Tiffin forum.
Left electrical plug is for battery trickle charger.

Transfer switch is mounted upside down because of posision of cables.



Driving Friday, Aug 14 to Amarillo, TX, Oasis RV park (2 nights).
